2020 Dodge Journey
The Journey is Dodge's budget-friendly crossover SUV. It offers buyers the utility of an SUV, room for up to seven people, and lots of storage areas in the cabin, so you and the kids can keep your things organized. The 2020 Journey has a simplified trim lineup and rear park assist now comes standard. Dodge also offers a new Popular Equipment Group as an option if you want additional features. Take a look at what the 2020 Dodge Journey has in store for you.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The trim levels start with the SE Value. This model has 17-inch steel wheels, and it comes standard with roof rails. Keyless Enter 'n Go and heated power side mirrors are also standard features. The Blacktop Appearance Package is now available for the SE Value and adds 19-inch black wheels, a gloss black grille, and a black roof. Bumping up to the Crossroad gets you 19-inch alloy wheels and a power sunroof.
Engine (Power)
The Journey gets its power from a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 172 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard along with the four-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
You can expect to get up to 19 miles per gallon in the city and 25 mpg when traveling on the highway in the Journey. The engine has the power to easily get it up to cruising speed, and this comfortable SUV stays composed when driving on curvy roads. A soft suspension contributes to the Journey's smooth ride, and the responsive steering makes it easy to handle.
Interior
The configurable cabin is one of the Journey's best features. It has split and reclining seats in the second and third rows, and the second row slides and reclines. The two back rows fold down flat to create a large cargo area, and the Crossroad has deep wells in the floor for extra storage. In the back, there are 10.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the seats, and this can open up to 67.6 cubic feet when the seats are folded down. A height-adjustable driver's seat comes standard along with dual-zone manual climate control. The Crossroad adds a cargo net in the back, and it has a heated steering wheel.
Technology in the Journey SE Value includes a 4.3-inch touch screen and a USB port. The Popular Equipment Group adds the Uconnect infotainment system with Bluetooth and satellite radio, however, if you bump up to the Crossroad, it comes standard. The Crossroad trim also adds an 8.4-inch touch screen and a CD/DVD player. The upgraded Uconnect system in the Crossroad comes with navigation.
Safety Features
Standard safety features on the 2020 Journey include a rearview camera, rear parking assist, stability control, anti-lock disc brakes, and a suite of air bags. Adding the Popular Equipment Group to the Crossroad gets you a lane guidance system. The NHTSA gives the Journey an overall rating of four stars, and the IIHS awards it their highest rating of Good in all but one category.
