Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2021 Ram 1500 is available in Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Edition Longhorn, and Limited trim levels. Additionally, the off-road and high performance specialized TRX trim is new for 2021. Depending on the trim, you can opt for a crew cab with a long or short box or a quad cab with a long box.
Tradesman trim vehicles offer daytime running lights, heated power mirrors, 18-inch steel wheels, a cargo area light, and a rear bumper step, while vehicles in the Big Horn trim feature alloy wheels and fog lamps. Vehicles in the Rebel trim add LED lighting along with more rugged and aggressive off-road styling.
Laramie trim models feature mirrors with turn signals, while vehicles in the Longhorn trim have 20-inch wheels, side steps, LED bed lighting, and a spray-in bed liner. Vehicles in the Limited trim add power-retractable side steps. The all-new TRX has distinctive styling details, increased ground clearance, 18-inch wheels with off-road tires, and a performance hood.
Engine (Power)
The 2021 Ram 1500's engine lineup begins with a 3.6-liter V-6 unit featuring Ram's eTorque mild hybrid system. This system delivers 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels or the available all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
For many models, you can opt for a 5.7-liter V-8 engine that comes standard in the Limited trim. This engine is available with or without eTorque and generates 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.
You could also choose a 3.0-liter V-6 turbo-diesel engine that produces 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. The Ram 1500 TRX is exclusively AWD and features a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine which offers 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. All engines are matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
Depending on your truck's configuration, the Ram 1500 has a maximum payload of 2,300 pounds and a towing capacity of up to 12,750 pounds. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX offers on- and off-road performance and bears a raised suspension, adaptive dampers, an electronic locking differential, and a high-performance exhaust system.
Interior
The workhorse Tradesman trim features vinyl seating, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, air conditioning, wireless phone connectivity, six-speaker audio, voice command, and a 5-inch touch screen. Vehicles in the Big Horn trim have cloth seats, a 60/40-split folding rear bench, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
For a touch of luxury, vehicles in the Laramie trim offer leather seats, heated and cooled front seats, power-adjustable pedals, dual-zone climate control, a 10-speaker sound system, and an 8.4-inch touch screen. Vehicles in the Longhorn trim have heated rear seats and navigation. Features in the Limited trim add to the luxury with leather seating, a 12-inch touch screen, and a wireless charging pad.
Safety Features
To help keep you safe on the road, the 2021 Ram 1500 has electronic stability control, anti-roll mitigation, traction control, trailer-sway damping, and a four-wheel assisted anti-lock braking system. Laramie trim features include frontal collision mitigation, while the Rebel trim features add rear park assist. Longhorn trim vehicles offer front park assist, while vehicles in the Limited trim include blind-spot monitoring.
Optional driver assistance features consist of adaptive cruise control, a lane-keeping system, trailer reverse steering control, and a 360-degree camera system.
