2022 Jeep Renegade
The Jeep Renegade is the entry-level SUV in the Jeep lineup. This subcompact SUV is more rugged than most in its class, and it offers some serious off-road chops. For the 2022 model year, the standard four-cylinder engine is no longer available, leaving the turbo four as the only powertrain. A new Red Edition and Altitude Package joined the lineup for 2022, and an 8.4-inch touch screen now comes standard with every model. Take a look at some other details for the 2022 Jeep Renegade.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Renegade is the Sport. It comes with 16-inch steel wheels, heated side exterior mirrors, and power-adjustable mirrors. Stepping up to the Latitude gets you 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, roof rails, fog lights, and keyless entry. It also comes with tinted rear windows. The Altitude Package for the Latitude adds 18-inch black-painted wheels and gloss black exterior trim.
Choose the Limited for 18-inch wheels and the option to add the Luxury Group with LED headlights. The Trailhawk is the off-road capable Renegade. It comes with a full-size spare and all-terrain tires. It also raises the suspension and adds skid plates and tow hooks.
Engine (Power)
Power for every 2022 Renegade comes from a 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbo engine. It develops 177 horsepower and uses Jeep's nine-speed automatic transmission. The Sport comes standard with front-wheel drive and offers all-wheel drive as an option, and the Latitude and Limited come with all-wheel drive. If you pick the Trailhawk, it uses a four-wheel drive system.
Performance
The 1.3-liter is a great engine to have under the Renegade's hood. It propels the small SUV up to 60 mph in under nine seconds. If you equip an all-wheel drive model with the tow package, it can even tow up to 2,000 pounds.
Interior
There are two rows of seats in the Renegade and room for up to five. The entry-level Sport has dual-zone automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver's seat, and a passenger seat that folds down flat to create extra storage space. Adding the Convenience Group Package to the Latitude gets you heated front seats and a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Limited upgrades to leather-trimmed upholstery. Technology features in the 2022 Renegade now start with an 8.4-inch touch screen, satellite radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker stereo. Rear USB ports come in the Latitude, and you can get a 115-volt power outlet in the Latitude with the Convenience Group Package. A nine-speaker premium audio system is an optional feature with the Sun and Sound Group.
Safety Features
Every Jeep Renegade comes standard with advanced driver aids. The extensive list of systems includes forward collision warning with mitigation, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure mitigation, and trailer sway damping. The Limited offers the Luxury Group Package with adaptive cruise control, an automated parking system that will steer the Renegade into a parking spot, and rear automatic braking. Rear parking sensors also come with this group of features. Bumping up to the Trailhawk gets you standard hill descent control, but it removes the forward collision mitigation system.
