2023 Jeep Gladiator
The Gladiator is Jeep's popular take on a compact, capable pickup truck. Great for off-roading and daily commutes alike, one entry from the Gladiator's long list of trim levels is sure to have the right combination of luxury, power, and safety for you. Here's everything you need to know about the 2023 Jeep Gladiator.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Gladiator comes in ten trim levels: Sport, Willys Sport, Sport S, Willys, Texas Trail, Altitude, Overland, High Altitude, Rubicon, and Mojave. All starting Gladiator Sport trucks come with Jeep's removable doors, a removable Sunrider soft-top roof, and plus a fold-flat windshield. All models have a choice between a gas or diesel engine and come with a 60-inch cargo bed that has up to 33.5 cubic feet of space
Plenty of useful exterior features come included on even the Sport model, like a Class II trailer hitch, a skid plate for the fuel tank, 17-inch wheels, fog lights, and variable intermittent windshield wipers. You'll find a wide range of exterior options, like half doors, a spray-in bed liner, a 3-piece hardtop roof, tonneau bed covers, side steps, and more. Moving up to the Willys Sport unlocks a package for LED headlights and fog lights.
Engine (Power)
The 2023 Gladiator comes with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, which can generate 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, that can be mated with either a 6-speed manual transmission or the available 8-speed automatic transmission. There's also an EcoDiesel 3.0-liter engine that pairs with the 8-speed shifter. This powertrain generates 260 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines make use of Jeep's 4-wheel-drive CommandTrac system, which can switch into a more efficient partial 4WD on highways and neighborhood streets. An engine oil cooler and heavy-duty axles with differentials also come standard.
Performance
The Gladiator Sport starts with a 4:10 axle ratio and includes a cold air intake system. Consider getting the Max Tow package, which bumps the tow rating from the 4,000-4,500-lb. range to 7,700 lbs. The available Auxiliary Switch package adds a separate battery, alternator, and programmable switches to customize your truck with lights, performance accessories, or other add-ons. The Trailer Tow package includes a Class IV hitch and advanced features like a trailer-hitch-zoom mode for the touch screen. The Willys model also adds heavy-duty shocks and a limited-slip rear differential.
Interior
The 2023 Jeep Gladiator includes plenty of interior comfort and technology features. Push-button start, cloth bucket seats, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel with infotainment controls, a 7-inch touch screen, Uconnect 4 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and two USB ports come standard on the Gladiator Sport. Even on that starting model, stitched or perforated leather seating are available, along with satellite radio and remote keyless entry.
Safety Features
There are plenty of available safety features that become standard as you climb the trims, like LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, and adaptive cruise control. Trailer sway control, hill-start assist, tire pressure monitoring, and a rearview camera appear on every trim level, along with front-seat side-mounted airbags. The Sport S unlocks access to the Jeep Active Safety package, with blind-spot monitoring and rear parking sensors. The Advance Safety package also adds adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and automatic emergency braking with forward collision warning.
