Power is Just the Beginning of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s Insanity

With 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque, the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is undeniably the most powerful production SUV on the market. But when reviewers from Motorweek and other publications got behind the wheel, they were surprised to find that while the Trackhawk was undeniably quick, it also had the ability to be subdued—when asked.

That’s surprising for a vehicle with the kind of performance gear on the Trackhawk. Its all-wheel drive system enables a 3.5-second launch to sixty from a standstill, but it does so without any of the wheel spinning that usually accompanies its level of power. Making that power delivery manageable is no small feat, but it does come with the sacrifice of the Grand Cherokee’s off-road abilities. Selec-Terrain options for mud and rock are nowhere to be found, for example, with Sport and Track modes replacing them.
