If you’re looking for a versatile vehicle with the space to carry your kids, all their gear, and their friends, the new 2020 Chrysler Voyager minivan should be at the top of your list. It’s available in the seven-seat L trim or the six-seat LX. Here are five of the features that make the Voyager worth a closer look.
Exterior Design
Versatility and space don’t mean sacrificing style, and the Voyager’s head-turning looks are sure to get you noticed. The sleek front end has a stylish grille, automatic headlights, and signature daytime running lights, while the sleek profile features wide-opening sliding rear doors for convenient access to the rear seats.
L models have 17-inch steel wheels with stylish covers, and color-keyed door handles and heated power side mirrors. The LX adds chrome-trimmed windows and grille, alloy wheels, and an optional roof rack.
Interior Features
The Voyager is designed for family life and, to maximize your cargo and passenger space, it offers multiple ways to configure the seats. The 60/40 split Stow ‘n Go third row folds flat into the floor to provide a level cargo area. With a full load of passengers, you have 32.3 cubic feet of luggage space. Folding the third row gives you 87.5 cubic feet, while stowing the second-row seats provides a huge cargo capacity of 140.5 cubic feet.
Inside the L trim, you’ll find premium cloth upholstery, a six-way adjustable driver’s seat, four-way adjusting passenger seat, and second-row bench seats. Also featured are cruise control, a 3.5-inch multi-information display, a tilt and telescoping steering column, air conditioning, and two 12-volt power points.
LX models offer tri-zone climate control, an eight-way power adjusting driver’s seat, second-row captain’s seats, and useful in-floor storage compartments. You also get the option of a leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated front seats.
Infotainment
The multimedia system features voice activation, Bluetooth, smartphone integration, a six-speaker sound system, and a 7-inch touch screen. LX trim adds satellite radio and steering wheel audio controls. As an option, you can have a rear entertainment system with an HD screen and DVD player that will keep your family amused on long road trips.
Power and Performance
Powering the Voyager is a powerful and refined 287 horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 engine generating 262 pound-feet of torque. Power is transferred to the front wheels by a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain returns up to 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg for highway driving. When properly equipped, you have a maximum towing capacity of 3,600 pounds.
Driver Assistance Features
Safety and security are at the forefront of Voyager’s technology. Standard driver-assist features include four-wheel ABS with driveline traction control, electronic stability control, traction control, tire pressure monitoring, and a backup camera. Opting for the available Safety Tec package gets you rear parking assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic warning.
