Golf Courses near Odessa

If you want to practice your swing, it can be challenging to know which golf courses are worth your consideration. Happily, we’ve tried most of them and can let you in on our top pick around Odessa, TX.

1. Ratliff Ranch Golf Links

Set in 125 acres, this is a Scottish-style links course set in the West Texas plains that features rolling hills and challenging elevation changes. The 18-hole, par 72 course has four tee sets ranging from 4,914 to 6,957 yards to cater to golfers of varying abilities.

The course is well equipped with a driving range, putting green and chipping practice area along with an excellently stocked Pro Shop, and lessons are available from the two on-site professionals. You’ll also find the Linx Bar and Grill, which offers terrific views across the course to go with excellent food and drink.

2. Sunset Country Club

Operating since 1954, this course continues to provide a challenging game for enthusiasts. Visitors can choose from a 6,665-yard 18-hole course or the 1,100-yard nine-hole short course.

Fairways and greens are well-tended, and the course has an excellent reputation locally for welcoming non-club members. There are all the expected practice facilities, including a driving range and 15,000 square foot putting green. There’s even a pitch and putt course if you want to have a fun round with the kids.

3. Nueva Vista Golf Club

Conveniently located in Midland, this is another friendly links-style course that does its best to create the perfect atmosphere for an enjoyable game. Groundskeepers allow native grasses to grow between holes to create an authentic, semi-wild, Scottish look to the undulating fairways.

The course runs at par 72, and three tee sets are offered to match visitors’ experiences. For practice, there’s a driving range, putting green and chipping green all ready to use, and lessons are available from the club’s own PGA Pro. Green fee discounts are offered to seniors or those wanting to play in twilight hours.

4. Hogan Park

There are two courses here, and both are perfect if you want to fit in a game that will challenge you without being unbearably harsh. There are long fairways, numerous water hazards, sandtraps, and tricky putting greens to contend with, and visitors repeatedly return to try and beat them.

The Roadrunner is nearly 7,000 yards from the back tees and is a links layout. The Quail is a more traditional course and covers a maximum of 6,600 yards. Both are open year-round, and complete practice facilities are available. If you’re hungry before or after your game, you can head to the excellent bar & grill, which offers hot food and cold beverages.

5. Ranchland Hills

Our final recommendation is this course, which is one of the oldest in the region and features charming landscaping with plenty of mature trees and natural ponds. The 18-hole is one of the tougher ones around. However, less experienced players can naturally choose to use the shorter tees.

A fleet of buggies awaits to make your trip around the course, and if you need some extra tips, you can take a member of the professional staff along with you. There’s a delicious restaurant here that is open for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, so you’re coveIf you want to practice your swing, it can be challenging to know which golf courses are worth your consideration.
