Roller Coaster in West Texas

From thrilling rides to games of chance, there are tons of ways to enjoy the day at an amusement park. Whether you love a bounce house or world-class roller coasters, there’s something to tickle everyone’s fancy in Texas. Here are our top three picks for exciting, must-visit entertainment hot spots near Odessa.

L-Squared Jumpers Indoor Inflatable Center

You don’t have to travel far to experience premium entertainment. Drive over to L-Squared’s indoor facility at 4101 E. 42nd St. for family-friendly fun in a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment. Jump all day for just five bucks for kids ages 1 up to 10. Adults get to play for free.

Conveniently located behind Music City Mall, it touts plenty of large inflatable slides, a blowup boat, an obstacle course, and age-appropriate bounce houses. Toddlers have their own designated area with inflatable toys that are just their size. There’s also a sitting area for parents with free Wi-Fi, so you can keep watch on your children as they play. Don’t let bad weather keep your family indoors. Encourage them to engage in active fun at L-Squared.

Old Miner’s Maze

The fun never ends at the Old Miner’s Maze in Midland. Load up the kids in the car and head to 4305 N. County Road. It’s only a 25-minute ride to where all the Wild West action is, including the largest maze in the area and loads of carnival rides like a Ferris wheel and a swinging ship. Why not go bungee jumping or try your hand at one of the giant games, like chess or checkers?

There’s a rock-climbing wall, an apple cannon, and the all-new barn spinner that puts your balance to the test. Beat the heat and head into the arcade for some old-school fun, or shoot it out with a round of indoor laser tag. The youngest kids will love a ride in the trackless train or a slick trip down the colossal slide.

Joyland Amusement Park

Located at 500 Canyon Lake Drive in Lubbock, Joyland Amusement Park is about two hours north of Odessa, and well worth the drive. Plan to spend the day indulging in a variety of attractions, including thrill rides and water rides for the whole family. The Big Splash water slide stands an incredible 40 feet tall, or hop aboard the Wild River log flume and experience 760 feet of twisting, splashing, water-soaked fun.

Brand new for 2020, discover the Sandstorm. This family-friendly coaster treats riders to fast-paced spirals through an upper and lower helix. The Dare Devil Drop delivers guests a breathtaking experience with speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. This simulated fall starts from a heart-wrenching height of 140 feet. For the kiddos, there’s The Dragon Wagon. It’s a wild miniature roller coaster for the first time rider.

Spending time with your friends and family is a terrific way to strengthen your bond, and where better to do that than an amusement park? Share the adventure with the ones you love and create lasting memories at one of these area carnivals.
