Hiking Trails near Odessa, TX

Take a walk out on the hiking trails throughout our area and you’ll get the best of what the great outdoors has to offer. You can find all these great spots here for a hike right around the corner from our neighborhoods in Odessa, TX, so get out there and explore.

1. I-20 Wildlife Preserve

See all sorts of plants and animals that inhabit our area on the well-kept trails of the I-20 Wildlife Preserve. Birds, butterflies, and bobcats are just some of the visitors to this park that you may catch a glimpse of as you walk the trails here. Bird blinds and viewing platforms throughout the premises give you great vantage points to see everything from.

2. Stonehenge Replica

You can get the experience of visiting one of the world’s most iconic landmarks right here in our town and get a nice hike in while you do it at the Stonehenge Replica. The paved trail around the main attraction here goes for about three miles and is well paved to make your hike as enjoyable as possible.

3. Commanche Trail

The extensive network of paths for walking, running, or biking at Commanche Trail makes it one of the best places in our area to get a hike in. You’ll see some amazing views of the woods, duck pond, and other scenery here. There are also three different disc golf courses and picnic areas if you’re looking for some activities for your day out.

4. Memorial Garden Park

Enjoy a nice stroll around the waters of the peaceful pond at Memorial Garden Park, the perfect place for a bit of quiet reflection and fresh air. There are beautiful flowers that enhance the scenery you’ll take in on your walk, and you might spot a few ducks and geese who like to frequent the park’s pond.

5. Salinas Park

Big, open fields give visitors to Salinas Park plenty of room to spread out and enjoy themselves, making it perfect for any activity you might have planned. There’s also a trail that circles around the area that makes the perfect setting for a quick hike.

6. Woodson Park

There are all sorts of fun things that you can do at Woodson Park, from the playground to the ball courts that let you have some fun. You’ll also enjoy the walking trail here which makes a great choice for beginner to intermediate hikers to take a walk on.

7. Sibley Nature Center

Another place that puts a special emphasis on the wildlife of our area, Sibley Nature Center has well-kept trails for you to wander along. The knowledgeable staff and interesting signage can tell you all sorts of things about the nature that thrives around our neighborhoods. You can also check out the tours and other special events held here to make your trip even more memorable.
