A Modern Look
The 2020 Renegade has Jeep’s seven-slot grille, a boxy profile, and round headlights with optional automatic high beams. Its rounded front and sculpted hood add a modern feel, and it has roof rails, a rear spoiler, 16-inch wheels, and heated power side mirrors that fold manually. You can also choose fog lights, 17- or 19-inch wheels, a power sunroof, removable roof panels, and splash guards.
Great Performance
With this Jeep, you can choose a 1.3-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine that generates 177 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque or a 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir motor that produces 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. There’s also a plug-in hybrid version that provides 240 horsepower with the 1.3-liter engine and its electric motor. All the engines have a nine-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive with manual, snow, auto, mud, and sand settings is an available option.
The Trailhawk trim also has an optional rock setting, high ground clearance, underbody skid plates, and high air intake for crossing puddles, streams, and creeks. Its suspension uses axle articulation to keep all the wheels on the ground, even on rough trails. With the plug-in, the gas engine moves the front wheels and the electric motor powers the back wheels. The Renegade can tow up to 2,000 pounds, and it gets 24 mpg in traffic and 32 mpg on larger roads with the 1.3-liter motor.
Plenty of Features
The 2020 Renegade comes with Bluetooth, folding front passenger and rear seats, buttons on the steering wheel, push-button start, cruise control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and two 12-volt outlets. Additional options include an 8.4-inch color touch screen, voice recognition, keyless entry, heated and cooled front seats, remote start, and navigation. You can also add SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, dual-zone climate control, a shelf for the cargo area, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.
This SUV helps you keep yourself and your passengers safe with electronic stability control, roll mitigation, a rearview camera, hill descent control, traction control, braking assistance, and lane-keeping assistance. It has seven airbags, and the dual-stage front airbags can sense the velocity of a collision and then activate at high or low speed for the best protection in a variety of situations. You can select collision warning, rear parking assistance, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot warning, and a security system with an engine immobilizer.
