Your Chrysler engine is composed of numerous working parts. If any of the parts are damaged or wear out, you’ll need a repair at your Chrysler dealer. We’d like to give you examples of some of the engine problems we can fix.
Clogged Catalytic Converter
Catalytic converters have been part of every car in the US since the 1970s. The purpose of a converter is to remove dangerous and toxic gases produced by combustion. The converter uses temperatures of approximately 1,600 F and extreme pressure to convert dangerous gases into harmless gases and water.
The conversion process creates carbon, and carbon can gradually build up and block the converter. A blocked converter prevents the exhaust gases from leaving the engine. These gases create back pressure in the engine that can cause it to fail within minutes of starting. If your engine suddenly shuts down for no reason, your converter is probably blocked. We can clear the blockage to fix this problem.
Damaged Radiator Fan
The heat generated by the engine has to be removed to prevent damage to the engine’s components. A liquid coolant circulates through your engine and absorbs the heat. The hot coolant is transported to the radiator, where the heat is removed by airflow over the radiator tubes. This process works perfectly when your car is moving, but it doesn’t work if it is idling.
Removing the heat from an idling engine depends on the radiator fan. This fan is attached to the rear of the radiator, and it switches on as soon as your engine temperature rises. The fan blows across the back of the tubes and forces the hot air out through the radiator grille. If the fan fails, your engine will start overheating as soon as your car isn’t moving. We’ll need to install a new radiator as the fan forms part of the radiator.
Worn Belt Tensioner
The alternator belt is one of several belts in your engine, but it’s one of the most important. This belt connects the crankshaft to a series of pulleys that connect to the alternator, the power steering pump, and the AC compressor. The movement of the belt across these pulleys powers the components connected to them.
The belt must be kept at a precise tension. If a belt is too loose, it can fall off, while a belt that’s too tight can snap. The belt tensioner ensures the alternator belt maintains the correct tension. A worn tensioner will cause numerous problems for your engine and even shut down vital components. Installing a new tensioner will solve this problem.

4 Car Maintenance Tips From Your Chrysler Dealer to Keep Your Vehicle Running Smoothly for Years
Want to help your car last as long as possible? Looking for some easy but effective car maintenance tips? Your Chrysler dealer has all the advice you need. Here’s what you need to know to keep your car in good shape.
1. Read Your Owner’s Manual
When you first purchased your car, you received an owner’s manual. This is a very important document that you should make sure you take a good, long look at before you drive your car.
There are several important pieces of information in your owner’s manual. This includes when you go for servicing, how certain safety and convenience features work, along with other important instructions.
2. Check Your Tire Pressure
You should be monitoring your tire pressure at least once a month. If the pressure starts looking too low, make sure you refill them right away. Driving on tires that don’t have a high enough pressure puts you at risk for problems like blowouts and flats.
Not only are these inconvenient, but they can put you in danger, too. You should also make sure you’re taking a look at your tires’ treads to ensure they’re wearing down evenly. If they’re not, it might be time for a tire rotation.
3. Refill Your Fluids
There are several fluids that your car needs to run properly. This includes your engine oil as well as your coolant, transmission fluid, and braking fluid among others. If these fluids start looking low, then it’s time to refill them.
Your dealer will make sure these fluids are filled during your service checks. At home, remember to also be on the lookout for signs of leaking. If your fluids are lowering faster than usual or if you’re seeing puddles beneath your car, it’s time for your dealer’s mechanics to take a look.
4. Get Service at the Right Place
To keep your car in the best shape possible, you need to ensure that you are getting regular maintenance for it. Bringing it to your mechanics for regular servicing will help you stay proactive and prevent major issues from happening.
The best place to take your car for service is your dealership. The mechanics at your dealer are experts when it comes to your specific brand of car, which means you can count on them to do what’s right for your vehicle every time.
If you want to make sure that your Chrysler lasts for a long time, the above maintenance tips will help you ensure that. Don’t forget to bring your car for regular maintenance. If it’s time for your car to get serviced, visit us at All American Chrysler Jeep Dodge Odessa.
What’s more fun after work than to invite your colleagues along in your roomy Chrysler 300 and head over to the bowling alley for a few games? If you are looking for a night out of fun and good food, visit these bowling alleys in the Odessa, TX area.
Diamond Lanes
At 2208 E 8th St, Diamond Lanes is renowned in our area for being clean and friendly. It’s a perfect spot to bring the family, too, and you can expect excellent service from the staff. They open at 10 AM every day but Sunday, when they open at 1 PM. Their closing hours vary by the day, so you might give them a ring if you’re planning to be there late just to make sure you have your times right.
There’s good pizza here, plenty of drinks for the kids, as well as some adult beverages, and prices are quite reasonable. If you do enjoy a few beers here, please drink responsibly and never drink and drive. Be aware that this place charges by the hour, not by the game, which will be good for some folks who like to bowl quickly but can catch out some families with kids who bowl more slowly. It gets pretty crowded here on a Friday night, so come early.
Cinergy Odessa
Yes, this is a movie theater, but they also have a great bowling alley with a state-of-the-art scoring system and bumpers for the youngsters. You can reserve your lanes only at the alley desk, however, as they don’t allow online reservations. One of the fun things they have here is something they call Hyperbowling. They put lights on the bumpers that create moving targets, and your goal is to hit the pins without hitting the lights. You can ramp this up to make the challenge as difficult or easy as you want.
They are located at 8250 East Highway 191 and are open from 11 AM until 11 PM Monday through Thursday, and until 1 AM on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, they open at 10 AM. There’s plenty to do here besides bowl, so it’s a good place to take the whole family if everyone wants to do something different.
Nothing can ruin a fun night out like car trouble. Make sure that never happens to you by getting regular service with us here at All American Chrysler Jeep Dodge Odessa!

Drivers rarely think about their car battery until it dies, leaving them stranded somewhere remote, unable to start their car. You can avoid this unpleasant situation by keeping an eye out for the five key warning signs of a dying battery. If you notice any of the following indications of trouble, it might be time to visit your local Chrysler dealer for a new car battery.
Dimming Headlights
The most visible sign of a failing battery is faltering headlights. If you find yourself squinting to see the road at night, you might need to check your battery. It might also be that your bulbs are at fault. Test them both to find the culprit.
Stalling While Idling
A dying battery needs more energy from the alternator to keep it alive. This extra draw of energy puts more pressure on the engine, which is only really noticeable while you’re idling. So if your engine is sputtering or even stalling when idling, you may need a new battery.
Struggling to Start the Engine
If your engine struggles to start one morning, then your battery isn’t sending enough of an electrical charge to the starter. This might be because it’s run out of power, in which case all you need is a jump start and then your alternator will start to recharge your battery. If a jump start doesn’t help, your batter is probably on its last legs.
Corroded Connectors
When you pop the hood to inspect your battery, look for signs of corrosion on the connector terminals. Any white, ashy discoloration is a bad sign. That battery will have to go.
Damaged Battery Casing
The casing of your battery should be perfectly regular. With too much heat, cold, and age, a battery casing can sometimes crack or warp out of shape. This means the battery is close to leaking and should be replaced.
Leaking Battery Acid
Really old batteries can sometimes begin to leak, at which point they need to be thrown out. Leaking battery acid has a sulfury smell like the stench of rotten eggs, which you’re likely to notice while on the road.
How a Chrysler Dealer Tests Your Battery
The technician at your local dealership can use a number of ways to test your battery. Most often, they’ll use a digital multimeter. They might also carry out conductance testing, load testing, or refractometer testing. Either way, they’ll quickly ascertain whether you need a new battery or not.
Have your battery checked by experienced professionals today at
All American Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Odessa. Our courteous, welcoming staff are dedicated to providing the drivers of Odessa, Midland, Pecos, Big Spring, Texas, and Hobbs, New Mexico with consistently top-notch customer service, whatever your vehicle needs might be.
