Valentine's Day 2021

Odessa, Texas, is the ideal city for a romantic date. Whether you’re interested in a quiet meal in a comfortable setting or a night full of culture and music, Odessa has something fun for you and your love. Take a look at some of the best date spots in the city below. You’re sure to find a place that your interest will adore.

The Frisky Brewing Company

If your date loves a good beer, Frisky Brewing Company is an excellent choice. The menu is loaded with creative, delicious, savory foods that pair perfectly with the craft beer list. You can choose calamari and shrimp, a spicy Cuban burger, a feta burger, a Monte Cristo sandwich, or a buffalo chicken sandwich. Customers love the flyboy ribeye and top sirloin steaks for celebrating special occasions.

The comfort foods section on the menu also has some great options, including Texas fried steak, chicken fried chicken, Southern fried catfish, and the famous Frisky meatloaf. A build-your-own pizza is also available. Try out Frisky’s blonde ale, pale ale, Texas country porter, and sinister IPA with your food. Your date will love how well they go together. Frisky Brewing Company is open from 4 p.m.-12 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, from 12 p.m.-2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, and from 12 p.m.-12 a.m. on Sunday.

The Ellen Noel Art Museum

If you prefer a date packed with culture and history, head over to the Ellen Noel Art Museum. The McKnight Gallery has over 900 works of art, and it flows naturally into the George and Milly Rhodus Sculpture and Sensory Garden, which has been utilized for various art events, such as community art days and artworks.

One of the current exhibits includes Stampede by El Paso artist Tom Lea. The 7-by-17-foot mural depicts a massive herd of longhorn cattle moving through the Texas countryside. The museum’s events calendar changes monthly, so you can take your date to see or do something new and interesting. Popular events include yoga, knitting classes, art workshops, art history talks, and cultural conversations. You can take a virtual tour, or you can visit Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12-5 p.m. Thursdays remain open until 8 p.m.

Diamond Lanes Bowling

For a simpler, more casual Valentine’s Day date, drive down to Diamond Lanes Bowling. The lanes are set up for people with all skill levels. You can bowl the night away while enjoying flashing lights and an atmosphere similar to a nightclub. There’s also a bar with an extensive drink menu. The cafe offers simple American cuisine; you can try funnel fries, spicy nachos, or savory burgers. Diamond Lanes is open from 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday. It closes at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 1 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. You can visit from 1-11 p.m. on Sunday.

Whether you and your date favor hearty, old-school American food with a good beer, a cultured evening full of artistic beauty, or an entertaining night of bowling, you’ll love your options at these Odessa locations.
