Meteor Crater at Odessa

If you’re looking for a great day out for all the family in Odessa, TX, there’s plenty to see and do here in the heart of cowboy country. So why not hop in the car and explore some of the best views our great city has to offer?

1. Chris Kyle Memorial

If you’ve seen the Hollywood blockbuster movie “American Sniper” (2014), you’ll know all about the incredible true story of U.S. Navy SEAL and Iraq War vet Chris Kyle, who also happens to be one of Odessa’s most honored sons. Our city is proud to be the site of his memorial, where the valiant Odessa-born American hero is forever immortalized in granite and Texas limestone.

2. Stonehenge Replica

If you’ve ever wanted to visit Stonehenge – the legendary Neolithic monument and iconic World Heritage Site in Wiltshire, England – but didn’t have the air miles, Odessa’s got you covered; we have our very own Stonehenge replica! The original took over 2,000 years to build, but we knocked ours up in just six weeks. (We’re pretty proud of that too.)

3. Odessa Meteor Crater

A National Natural Landmark since 1965, the Odessa Meteor Crater is America’s second largest of its kind, at over 500 feet wide and (originally) 100 feet deep. There’s also a fascinating onsite museum, where the kids can learn everything they’ve ever wanted to know about giant space rocks. Parking can be a squeeze when it’s busy, but fortunately, the Jeep Wrangler’s ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System and ParkView® Rear Back Up Camera make difficult parking a total breeze.

4. Jack Ben Rabbit

The jackrabbit is the unofficial mascot of Odessa, and in 1962 we decided to honor our favorite feisty critters by building the world’s largest jackrabbit statue, the 8-foot-tall Jack Ben Rabbit. By 2004, we figured one wasn’t enough, so we commissioned 36 smaller ones and scattered them throughout the city. We challenge you to find them all!

5. Memorial Garden Park

We’ve saved the best till last with the Memorial Garden Park – a stunning waterside stroll and popular picnic spot dedicated to the original pioneer families that settled the area way back when. The kids will love feeding the ducks and turtles in this beautiful desert oasis, which also features a pleasant walking trail and some choice sculptures of native animals by local artists.

With all these places to visit, you’ll never manage to get around them all on foot, and we wouldn’t want you to miss out! So come on down to All American Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Odessa and check out our impressive fleet of Jeeps, Wagoneers, and Chryslers today.
